Got kicked out of the close Buc-ee's.Nice ramp with enough space.
A Georgian delivery man gave me a ride on his way to LA. Spent the ride talking with him in Russian through translator.
He would have brought me to Las Vegas, NM, if he didn't have the work tracker on his van.
Offered me money, water bottles snacks and an external battery, and to meet him in LA when I'll be there as well !

Hitchhiked directly on the highway.Got a ride from two Oregon men on their way to Amarillo.
Nice and willing to help.
Crazy car, none had driver licenses, were trying to find a solution to get their friend out of jail for detaining meth.
Dropped me in Amarillo as they were still running errands in town but offered me to pick me up and drive me further West when they would head that direction if I haven't found another ride at that point.

Waited about 3 hours for a ride all the way to Amarillo. Not a bad spot for Interstate hitchhiking but the sun can be pretty brutal.―MossytheMuse

Might have just been unlucky but we were on the side of the road for 5 hours, maybe more. State Trooper pulled over to check on us and apologize that they aren't allowed to pick up hitchhikers anymore. Somewhere on Hitchhike someone mentions that Texans will more likely give you money than a ride. This was true in our experience. We stopped in the diner across the street for lunch and people were very helpful but no rides. Eventually a guy picked us up going all the way to Childress.―MossytheMuse
