Shitty place. Shittier even in the middle of the summer.The bus line 10 runned by YCAT connecting El Centro to Yuma 3 days/week. Fare is $2.
Arrived here at 1pm to the on-ramp, offering lots of place and stayed on the on-ramp, until the heat (above 110F) was unbearable. Went then to the gas station on the other side of the bridge. The Mexicans running it are friendly and let me ask drivers for a ride. I did it for around 2 hours, without success, before returning to the on-ramp until the sunset.
Got in total 4 people stopping during the day (once I dropped my sign), but they were only offering local rides.
If you have to spend the night there, I got recommended by locals the commercial block SE of the intersection. You might not be alone, but police won't bother you.
Next morning, I got a ride from Sara, a bus driver on her shift. Once arrived to Yuma, she gave me an extended ride in her personal Lincoln for me to be in a good spot. Also offered to host me if I was ending up stuck in the city again.

Maybe it would have been easier at the other I-8 exit.Asked around for an hour at the gas station before being asked to leave. People were nice and I even received some money. But I mostly talked to locals or people going East.
Later came back there and talked with Ramón, a sweet Mexican guy who offered me a drink and wishes me the best.
In the meantime, I went on the ramp and I got nothing for 2 hours.
Ultimately, I got a ride from Gloria, who dropped me there earlier and brought me to the Mexican border. Smooth ride, recommend this road for the unexpected sceneries of this part of California.

Average spot, it seems like asking directly at the cars stopped at the streetlight wasn't worth it.Got a ride from someone who waited for me in the hospital parking lot, honking to attract my attention.
Gloria was on her way to bring back her mom. As she picked me up, she talked to me about Mexico and called family relatives to see if they could give me my next ride.
