This spot is great! I literally was picked up by the first car that came by. If you're going hiking for the day in the gorge, this is your starting spot (make a 'Multnomah Falls' sign). If you're going further (to Boise, SLC, or Spokane) definitely make a sign to get a direct ride, as hitching is frowned upon in Eastern Oregon and against the law in Idaho.―Anonymous

We got picked up before even starting to hitch-hike by a guy that saw us walking with a sign... Can't beat that..―Anonymous

Both truckstops, the TA and the Love's are pretty unfriendly. The TA allowed me to stay for the better part of a day but I was booted from Love's real fast. The onramp is good, though!―Drinkwindexx

It was pretty late in the day but people were pretty reluctant to pick me up. One guy even pulled off onto the shoulder and tried to shoot rocks at me.I ended up taking the city bus out to the truckstops out at Troutdale.
Portland seems like a bit of a mess. I'm glad I'm just passing through.

Not a great spot but anywhere on 84 in Eastern Oregon you have a good shot of making it across to the Portland area.―Mossythemuse

Got a ride to the MAX station in Gresham pretty quick. Good vibes on 84 coming into Portland.―Mossythemuse
