Avoid hitching west out of Sacramento by taking a Yolo Transit bus to Davis, and walking here, across the street from the In & Out Burger. For maximum visibility, stand on the triangular traffic island. Cars have plenty of room to stop. If you'd like a ride all the way to the East Bay, an "East Bay", "Oakland", or "BART" sign can help.―Anonymous

Very sunny spot, no shade whatsoever. Next to a truck stop so plenty of room on the on ramps to pull over. Traffic was very scarce so I thought it'd be a whole, but the first trucker to pull in picked me up. Probably felt bad about the heat. In a pinch probable wouldn't be a bad place to highway walk (if you don't get any rides) Doesn't seem like there was a police presence nearby at all.―Sara11us

I flew right in front of the truck exit and didn't get a ride after over 4 hours. Most truckers here are either going west, or can't pick up hitch hikers because of their insurance/company policy. Got cash kick downs, but no ride offers. Another hitcher was flying at the i80 east on-ramp and was there as long as I was with no luck. In the future I'd just forgo this spot entirely.―Sara11us
