yep great place to hike north, the numbers of the bus lines that deserve this area are 6 and 7,stop at the bus stop close to the super one (60th street), there is stop at the end of east superior street (15min walk from the bus stop), and you can take a bath in the ester river. I met luckily the guy that post the previous comment downtown Duluth... Merci à toi!―Anonymous

Take Lakeside bus to 60th Ave E. and continue walking on Superior St. You can start hitching from there, as all traffic leads to the highway 61. Crossing Lester River Bridge and getting to 4-lane highway. There is 1 last street lamp where traffic from London Rd and Superior St connect AFTER the railroad crossing. THIS IS A PERFECT STOP TO WAIT!!―Anonymous

This seems like the best spot for going south out of Duluth. There are plenty of cars taking that ramp and there is space for them to pull over. I took the city bus from the north side of Duluth near Brighton Beach to about 3 blocks from here. I could imagine it taking a lot longer than 25 minutes to get a ride because in my experience, the hitchhiking between the Twin Cities and Duluth can be difficult at times.―Anonymous
