Just a bit after the park entry. Got a ride before we even fished a sign to Washington D.C.. Probably good to ask for rides at the parking as well. 4km walk to a free camp site in the river from here

Up the road is a nice green area, good for stealth camping. Got a ride down towards the River whee we went to the free campsite. Good spot at a crossing with traffic lights

Only a few people stopped but didn't went west. Somebody called the police on me (but they where very friendly). After 3 h a nice lady from the neighbourhood picked me up and let me stay at her place

I was advided against hhiking near the Pentagon, but after waiting 10 minutes I got a ride 30 min. in the direction of Richmond.

Not the best spot. Drivers have little time to see you and little room to stop, but it should be possible to get a ride from here. Positioning yourself well would be key.
