Strong rains, got a short ride from a local, trying to get closer to Dallas to find some public transportation to reach Downtown.

Had a sign saying "Athens". I ended having all the way closer to Dallas from a former hitchhiker who used to travel all over the country.

'Dog', proudly republican and member of the band Black Ice.

Offered me money at the end of the ride, even if I told him he didn't have to.
Gave me his # as well, telling me I have a friend in Texas now, if I ever come back in the area.

Got pulled over by the police during the ride, but for silly reasons. Nothing happened.

I was hitching Southbound, directly from the highway. There is a huge gravel pad for traffic to pull off. There is a truck stop (Petro) near by.

I got picked up by a big rig and got a ride all the way to Dallas, TX.

Hitching north out of DFW on US-75 is tough. This spot really isn't the greatest, but I got picked up surprisingly fast.

The issue is that there really isn't a good spot for vehicles to pull off. And well also, there is no transit in the area so it's a long walk to get to this spot.

The Costco near Parker rd. would probably be a better option. It's a substantialy shorter walk, and The truck entrance seems like it would offer a good place for vehicles to pull off.

Bad spot - Rockwall is the richest county in Texas and it shows. Loads of spotless dodge rams moving too fast to slow down. Traffic is really bad which makes things a bit easier, but better to wait on the interstate than the ramp as the frontage roads very fast and mainly local traffic
