Got dropped in a bad place, and was kinda stuck hitchhiking here. The police showed up and told me to stop hitchhiking =(―Anonymous

Used this location prior to the disassembly of the oasis (highway overpass rest-stop). Knocked on semi-truck doors until someone offered a ride. Gas stations still exist here, so maybe still an option, but most likely less trucks now.―jayman

Horrible spot but I got lucky when a Mexican guy in a work van pulled across the lanes of construction to come save me.―Mossythemuse

a lot of traffic, lots of rude drivers (middle fingers, yelling, etc). Ended up hitching here for 5 days before taking a bus to Champiagn (luckily very cheap with amtrak, I would recommend waiting for a good deal instead of wasting time trying to hitch here). Most police officers did not seem to care except for one who threatened to arrest me if he saw me again, but I ended up leaving the next day on a bus anyway. I don't think that's the norm, the other cops there have been relatively nice to me.(male, white, 18)
