Tried to get a ride until night, between the ramp and directly on the highway shoulder.Very low traffic, no one stopped.
My CS host in Lafayette ended up coming to get me.
Clerk at the gulf gas station around very sympathic.

On the highway shoulder, large and plenty of room to stop. Low traffic.Cops passed by without stopping.
A man in a pick-up pulled over. Wasn't really interested in chatting. Told me if I was still in Gray the day after, he could bring me all the way to Lake Charles. I don't know how serious he was about it.

Nice gas station. Got my lunch spontaneously paid by someone in front of me in the line and people I asked a ride were very friendly.A young man heading to Houma with his van picked me up, after first telling me it couldn't, due to a common misunderstanding. Being on a rush, he couldn't drive me all the way to the Gray exit, so he dropped me on the highway.

Waited here 2 hours the night before and then camped , got a ride quick the next morning from the sheriff and got blessed with some Cajun food―Sargentnickptsd
