Hitchhiked here for a couple of hours towards the sunset. The spot is really good as its easy for cars to stop for the entrance to the highway towards North. We ve had 5 cars stop for us but most of them was going close, and only one going more than a 100 miles, yet to the direction we didnt want. We waited another night till we get a ride all the way to Portland next morning.―Umitorhan

I wouldn't suggest trying to hitch North/East on I-80 after noon. Many many commuters, tons of people laugh at you, thinking you're destitute or joking, I don't know. It was a terrible feeling so much that I decided to quit thumbing after a couple hours and walk to another spot.―Anonymous

This was a few day journey and we stopped on Orick for a few days to camp on the beach and check out the redwoods. I highly recommend this trip. Keep in mind this was in the late 90s. Things have changed.―lichenresolve
