Stand on this road between two big truck stops to get a ride on I-10 east or west. (Entrance ramps along highway no good). All trucks going back to highway must pass by you. Hold a sign with your direction (I-10 West to California, for example). My average distance of rides from this place: 200 miles.―Anonymous

Take the 684 bus straight to Gila Bend (on the I-8) or Ajo and hitch to San Diego, LA, Yuma, or Tucson from there... only $5, and the bus takes you far from Phoenix sprawl.―Anonymous

I've hitchhiked here many times over the years heading towards Laughlin or Las Vegas. Usually pretty quick, once got a ride from a guy going to Tahoe and just rolled with it. Great spot if you can get here.―Kenny

I still recommend taking the 685 bus (sometimes $5, sometimes free of cost) to Gila Bend to start trips west toward California - it is great for San Diego, Yuma, and Los Angeles. I no longer recommend trying to get to Tucson via Ajo, however. I would recommend leaving South of Chandler to get to Tucson!―Wallpaper
