Lots of traffic, but not really giving me any attention.A first car stopped but didn't give me a ride, just rubbish talk.
Local end up giving me a ride and drove a few more miles to drop me after I-310 exit so I could have more chances with traffic.
He told me about the New Orleans of his youth and his opinions about national politics.

Mostly locals at the gas station who was quite empty, possible to hitch on the road and talking to them as well.Got a few bucks.
An old man gave me a ride to bring me closer to Highway 90 and have only the traffic going my direction, before he went back to New Orleans.

Very nice locals I met in a bar gave me a place to stay as they told me the police could be nasty on the island.Forbidden to spend the night there if you don't have a property.
Got in touch with my driver online the night before, thanks to one of my previous driver who end up fixing her car.
She joined me where I was to spend the night & we head to nola together the next morning

Convenient spot but people don't stop. Finally got a truck driver to stop and take us right to New Orleans. Pretty awesome―Blaireau

Waited 2 hours, got a ride to Slidell (not that far.) Seemed like a lot of local traffic, cops didn't care.―Anonymous

waited for 3 hours, got a ride 2 minutes down the road to Slidell. Not a lot of cars here, locals seem apprehensive to pick up strangers.―Anonymous

Waited for 2h and was going to Knoxville, TN (sign "I-59N"). Many cars going to Texas. Police didn't bother. It's easy to get there: bus 62,64,65 till Bullard Ave/Walmart―Anonymous
