There’s a good spot for hitching after the lights but busses do regularly stop there. I had a few nice locals offer me lunch and then (after I explained to them) they explained to a bus driver and got me a free lift to ninh binh. Just got lucky but it is a good spot.―Kjmurray1230

Super good spot. I think it’s technically more legal as it’s not on the highway yet. The cars have to go round a sharp corner to get onto the road so you can catch them when they’re slow. Have a sign for ninh binh and a good smile―Kjmurray1230
