maybe the drop point can be a bit random as there a lot of destination possible from there

It’s a quite good spot. I waited on the on-ramp of the highway. Many cars coming, enough space to stop. In the first 10 minutes 3 or 4 cars stopped, but they didn’t went my direction. I wanted to go to Geneva/switzerland. In the end I got offered a ride to Mulhouse or be dropped off at a rest area towards Geneva. I took the ride to Mulhouse and the guy even drove me to Basel (bale) to the train station. I even met someone else hitchhiking there at the same time, so cool!

Single male, no French. It was alittle frustrating. Waited around 5 hours with a sign "Lyon" and "Sud A7" at the very end of the station. Good amount of traffic but nobody stopping. A Turkish French guy took me to north of Avignon. And also gave me 50 Euros, god be with the you, much respect Mutalip Abi!

Single male, no French. Good spot, has shade if the trees are alive, slow and nice amount of traffic early in the day. Plenty of space cars to pull over. Hold a sign (Aire de Solaize) and did a thumb same time :D Got a ride from a teacher named Ali (much love) and got dropped in the next gas station on the highway ( Aire de Solaize). Overall great spot. Good luck out there stalker!

Single male, no French. Spent the night here. Set my tent in the north side of the Aire, next to truck rest stop. No one bothered me, only one truck driver approached me and asked me what I was doing when I set my tent. Apparently he was also Turkic so we started to speak same language, he gave me incredible meat stew and offered me ride next day, sadly he was driving past the Lyon and I wanted to enter the city. Next morning I started early and got a direct ride to Lyon, from Fred who was also such a cool guy. Fairly enough traffic in this station, good spot I would say. Good luck out there stalker!

The spot seems generally good, we waited first at the exit and then moved to the gas station and waited with a sign and our thumbs out. After one hour a man stopped and offered to take us to Avignon. We had to wait for him to charge his car for a bit and then went with him.

In the afternoon, I (female) wait for 1 min with a sign « Lyon » and have a proposition to Givors (south Lyon) that I didn’t take and I wait for 5 minutes and another car stop and bring me to the metro of Venitieux where I catch a metro to Lyon center.

The spot is not too bad but there is actually very few cars there. My advice is to ask to go the next gas station at Isle-d'Abeau. However I got a ride from Jules to Chambéry !

J'ai demandé à un mec qui faisait de l'essence et il m'a pris direct direction Valence.
L'aire n'a pas l'air très fréquentée mais il était 17h30 un lundi. Y a moyen de marcher en 15mn de l'aire Sud à Nord, mais y a une petite zone interdite à passer au Nord de l'autoroute. Il suffit de contourner les barrières. On m'a pas embêté mais voilà.

Très bon spot pour Paris vu que tout le monde y va. Par contre je descendais direction Clermont-Ferrand/Lyon, quasiment personne n'allait à Tours. Mais j'ai quand même fini par trouver, pour Lyon !

I walked back and forth with my sign with "A6" written on it between this spot and the other one about ten meters further ahead marked on this map (look for the upside down triangle sign with "cedez passage" written below, there was a hitchwiki sticker sticked on it!), thumb up hoping to get a lift

After an hour or a bit more I got a lift by a vanlifer who dropped me in a gas station 20 minutes north, which I sadly didn't save up in my maps so now I don't remember where it was
