What hitchhikers said along this route

“At red light on rue du Belliard, Towards Leuven / Liege / Aachen ( E40 ). At the end of the road the cars take the tunnel. Make sure the car you take goes at least till Leuven. If they do and you go further, ask them to put you off at the petrol station on the motorway right after the split to Leuven. They can join back Leuven through small road from the petrol station.”

“A slghtly dangerous place, crowded, there's extremely little space for cars to safely stop and they are going quite fast...On the other hand there are many of them going to the East. Your call...”

“Perfect spot for going east in the week-end! A little less croweded, so a little bit easier for cars to stop. I got a ride to Leuven after 1 minute on a Saturday morning. You can push the button to cross the street on the pedestrian lane, to create a red light situation for the cars that are going in the tunnel. It might help :)”

“I was standing a bit closer to the tunnel on the left side and was picked up after 2 minutes and got a direct lift to Antwerp. Before I waited on the right side at a traffic light for half an hour and no one stopped.”

“I tried that spot for like 3 minutes on a Sunday afternoon. I was standing just next to the Total petrolstation. The first car to stop was going next to Leuven. 30 seconds later, another stopped and took me till Liège, on the last petrolstation before Germany.”

“I hitchhiked many times from this spot. The left side is the best side. Right after, or before, the first traffic light. It seems there's no space to pull over, but Belgian people actually can. All the time.”
― Guaka, Thu 2012-07-12 · Rue Belliard - Belliardstraat, Brussels
“Waited less than 5 minutes to go to Liege. I was standing at the Total petrol station and dropped me next to Liege on his way to Germany.”
