“Bus stop. Well-known hitchhiking spot, good for all directions out of Frankfurt. Get here with Straßenbahn line 16 or 17, or U-Bahn line U4. Stop is 'Festhalle/Messe' (50m away on the other side of the roundabout). You often find other hitchhikers here, especially in the morning. Waiting time 30-60 minutes. “after 2 min a guy took us (me and a girl at 14:00 on a cloudy sunday summer day) to a gas station direction köln. very easy and very busy, good place for cars to stop, good traffic. Totally recommend. Maybe I was lucky, but that's what hitchhiking is about, right? you have to be lucky and make your luck happen”

“We hitchhiked from here west to the airport Frankfurt Hahn. It was 10pm and so dark, and no cars slowed down or even looked interested for a good 45 minutes, thankfully we got picked up by the actual airport bus and given a lift all the way there, however i think we just got lucky, wouldnt recommend this spot for getting to frankfurt hahn.”

“Came here to go south, waited 30 min. A woman came bye walking and said thats nonsense, no one is going south. "Look in google where it leads you if you want to go south." Yeah she was right. Pointed me to a gas station south of the main train station, good spot. Apart from that probably a good spot for other directions, plenty of space to stop. You have to stand on the bicycle lane though.”

“Waited there for more than 3h with a sing (Köln), later i gave up and walked further west to Katharinenkreisel. Don't know why no one was stopping because i think its a good stop and everyone is heading to the Highway. There i waited only 20 minutes (Lucky) because there was not much traffic.”

“I stood there for almost an hour with a sign saying Köln and Essen on Monday at 11. many cars passed by but the vibe was not great. Frankfurt is a banker city and the people gave me weird looks. However one van stopped after 20 minutes, they were going to Hannover though. After a while a guy driving to Bochum (city right next to Essen) took me along and we had a great ride :)”
