It's honestly a pretty dodgy spot. No shade, no water, no traffic, and it can get really hot. The parking bay down the road is desert and useless if you want to stay on the highway. BUT I had the best luck and finally got a lift all the way to Broome.―Anonymous

best spot to get out of town - although, you could probably get a ride from closer to town if you tried. Make sure to start early (like 5 or 6am!) if you want to get long distances! You will most likely get a ride out to the roadhouse 30km from here- take it, and then ask the truckies out there!―Anonymous

Easiest way to get out of town.Lot of traffic. I was there around noon in summer season. It was really easy.

Good spot. I got a ride after 1 hour, while I was walking to next roundabout with thumb out.―Bursztyn

No shade until late arvo, good amount of room for cars to stop―Anonymous

Not much shade, but there's place for cars to stop before railway. You get whole traffic from Port Hedland leaving the town. Got lucky with couple from NZ all the way to Broome. Took me almost 2 days to get lift (before I stood close to airport).Start early.
You can probably find a spot to camp around, or walk 1 hour to touristic shelter close to airport.
