In theory nice place to get outside off the city. It can be a little bit akward waiting there because some illegal workers are waiting close to the spot. But still we managed to get a ride outside of the city and from there we found easy a ride to graz. I recommend to plan some waiting time and to have the courage to ask people to give you a ride.―Lele

A bad spot but we were extremely lucky. We (M+F) got dropped off in Baden by our previous driver (we were trying to get from Czechia to Bosnia) so we were just trying to get out of there back on the hughway but a kind older lady took us all the way to Leibnitz.If you ever end up in Baden this bus station is the only possible spot to get on the highway I think.

We asked around the petrol station but there were just locals and nobody going longer distance on the highway so we eventually put up a sign to Wiener Neustadt and stood before the traffic lights on the opposite side of the crossroad. The cars have to stop there so they see you and they can wait for you on the bus stop or at the petrol station. A couple eventually took us but only to Baden (which was a mistake probably).―kamens64

2 guys, in the evening, in the end with sign "WN" (Wiener Neustadt) I recommend trying to reach the McDonald's in Bad Fischau (beautiful building) because many people go just locally, but from the Rest station it's just easier to go further.―jkczech

It's a perfect spot to hitchhike, cars are going slowly. The part of the highway was under construction, so it was low traffic there. Maybe without the construction, there is better traffic and then higher chance to catch a ride. We ended up moving to the another gas station without construction place.―jchymski

We didn't even started trying to stop cars and a guy asked if we wanna go further on the highway, we ended up on OMW near Wiener Neustadt. So it was a pretty nice experience, but other reviews are not that good. We was just lucky.―jchymski

Nice place! Not much of the traffic, but 90 percent goes to Graz or further.You can get there by train from Vienna + a little bit of walking

Good enough spot to get south, many locals drive not that far but it's worth getting for example to a rest station near Wiener Neustadt where you'll meet more long-distance drivers―jkczech

It's not the best spot to pull over, but the best nearby, got a ride very quickly though. Hitchhiking as a couple with a "Schneeberg" sign... There's also a possibility to stand at the traffic lights or at the exit from the highway. Though I wouldn't probably stand at the exit myself since there are many locals heading to the mountains who don't come from the highway.―jkczech
