only a few PL/H/CZ cars passed and everyone ignored me. this roundabout is not a truly convenient place for drivers to stop, I would personally stay at the separate lane a bit earlier.

A good place if you want to go towards Italy, France and Germany or the Czech Republic. We were heading towards Budapest and we had some difficulties to find someone who was driving in that direction. But a lot can depend on what time you hitchhiking. On the plus side, a lot of trucks and quite a lot of passenger car traffic at the gas station. A good place to stop/accommodate. There is a shower, laundry, hostel.

One of the best places to hitchhike near Katowice. We planned to go in the direction of Ostrava in the further Budapest and we managed to catch the driver to Vienna. Overall, a great place to catch a foot in the direction of Wroclaw, Berlin, Vienna. It is worth going to the parking lot and asking people where they are going - a lot of individual drivers and trucks.

A great spot for stopping a ride to Brno/Prague. Even though we started late in the evening (like two hours till sunset), we knew getting a ride towards Czechia will be quite easy since there are so many cars with czech/german/polish plates here, however most of the cars were austrian plates going back southbound. Most to the drivers were kind, responding (boosted our hopes and morale). In the end managed to secure a lift 70km beyond Brno.

Hitchwiki recommeds this spot for catching a ride towards the A5 Autobahn in order to get further north to Czechia. Do not make the same mistake as us (me and my friend), and try to get a ride from here on SUNDAY!!! Kaufhaus is closed on sunday, very little traffic, the locals who drive here do not like hitchhikes and will treat you like UFO (mostly ingoring you tho), however, miraculously we managed to stop two young fellas in a mercedes after like an hour of suffering and zero hope.

A local from Vienna drove me here saying it will be a good spot to go to Czechia since many people from CZ work here. And indeed it was true. I wouldn't choose the place myself, that's why 4/5 but it was great in the end.

Got a lift to Wolkersdorf with a sign "Brno" however during that hour, only about 10 Czech cars passed me. Also I didn't get too many interactions with the drivers.. but it's a nice spot to get from Vienna since the bus to the shopping mall is free - also this place is recommended by Hitchwiki👍🏼

Direction: Brno, Prague, Poland
Literally after building the Nord Autobahn this is one of the best places to hike out from Vienna. Get in train to Wolkensdorf, and then just hold the sign while walking from train station to this place. It's enough just to get a little lift to the huge petrol station located about 4km from this spot.

A big petrol station with McDonald's. The best spot to leave Vienna in all north directions. Hike from a little roundabout there.

When I was going from CZ to Vienna, I always wondered what this spot is like. Yesterday I finally stopped here on the way to CZ and here's my comment: I was standing at the roundabout and was surprised that more cars are going towards Vienna than CZ/Poland. Anyway after 30 mins a guy strangely stopped in the middle of the roundabout to check something and when I showed him my CZ sign he took me. I think it is worth stopping here when going from CZ somewhere faraway from Vienna. There were lots of cars going south.

it costs 5 euro to get from any place in wien to wolkersdorf. I stop a car to czechia on the road from wolkersdorf to highway before reaching the gas station. but that was just a luck I guess

It is a gas station for both ways, Viena or Brno, but the majority of drivers that stops there are comming TO the Czechlands. So if you are here and wanna go the other direction, just find a car to Vienna (asking) first.

I htichiked from here on a way from Mikulov,CZ to Budapest with my sister. Saturday morning, 11 o clock. We waited here 45 minutes for a truck driver, who had a driving break.
Austrians with Bosnian background bought us tea, choccolate and gave us bannanas. So nice.
Than our driver took us to Wien.
Very little traffic stopped here.
Average place

Took the bus to G3 mall and made use of the free toilet (No free toilet at main train station), walked 20 minutes to this spot and someone picked me up after standing there for 5 seconds. Had a sign saying "10 km", and was driven to the good gas station spot 10 km from here. Direction Czech!
