This place broke me, almost everything local traffic. I got lucky after two hours a desperately wawed to Czech car, and it stopped, but it was a pain in the ass. Find a different spot. Also Sundays in Austria suck.―Anonymous

just go along the road and ask around where most of the people are.i decided to do something stupid and went to Vienna by foot, which took me 14 hours, but at this place you get a ride just by existing. cross the border.

only a few PL/H/CZ cars passed and everyone ignored me. this roundabout is not a truly convenient place for drivers to stop, I would personally stay at the separate lane a bit earlier.―Anonymous

in theory this is the best you got in order to escape the north of Vienna (hell)workday morning was very tough, but I persevered and reached Prague in 6 hours even with horrible luck.
please ask to take you to gas stations, direct rides to brno or prague are very unlikely.

just go down the road for 5 more minutes. there's more space to stop, more traffic and more visibiluty. at this point most cars are still grumpy austrian grannies who are driving to the shopping mall.―Anonymous

Difficult to get a ride to Budapest. Probably best to look for Slovak plates and get a ride to “ASFINAG Raststation Göttlesbrunn”. There you’ll see more Hungarian plates.―spinach3

Really difficult place to go to Hungary, there is like 95% of locals and 5% that goes to Bratislava (we could go there 2 times). We took just a lift to the airport and see what happens.―Anonymous

We were heading towards Budapest but few people were going towards Hungary. More people are heading to a nearby airport. So we caught a ride to the airport and from there we will try to catch a hitchhiking to Budapest.―Anonymous

Weak spot - you can't hitchhike on the motorway - we were picked up by the road service and dropped to the nearest station - there was no ticket, but they told us that there was an absolute ban on catching a foot on the highway.―Anonymous

A good place if you want to go towards Italy, France and Germany or the Czech Republic. We were heading towards Budapest and we had some difficulties to find someone who was driving in that direction. But a lot can depend on what time you hitchhiking. On the plus side, a lot of trucks and quite a lot of passenger car traffic at the gas station. A good place to stop/accommodate. There is a shower, laundry, hostel.―Anonymous

One of the best places to hitchhike near Katowice. We planned to go in the direction of Ostrava in the further Budapest and we managed to catch the driver to Vienna. Overall, a great place to catch a foot in the direction of Wroclaw, Berlin, Vienna. It is worth going to the parking lot and asking people where they are going - a lot of individual drivers and trucks.―Anonymous

Direct car to Wien. It's a bit tricky to get to this petrol station, but definitely worth it. A lot of people stop here to get coffee and bagel before they go non-stop to Wien or further.―Anonymous

Good spot to go to ViennaGot picked up by the third car, got taken close to Vienna.
It's in a shade, cars have nice spot to stop and people are going to the direction of Vienna. Feels comfortable.

A great spot for stopping a ride to Brno/Prague. Even though we started late in the evening (like two hours till sunset), we knew getting a ride towards Czechia will be quite easy since there are so many cars with czech/german/polish plates here, however most of the cars were austrian plates going back southbound. Most to the drivers were kind, responding (boosted our hopes and morale). In the end managed to secure a lift 70km beyond Brno.―slavomirScholz

Hitchwiki recommeds this spot for catching a ride towards the A5 Autobahn in order to get further north to Czechia. Do not make the same mistake as us (me and my friend), and try to get a ride from here on SUNDAY!!! Kaufhaus is closed on sunday, very little traffic, the locals who drive here do not like hitchhikes and will treat you like UFO (mostly ingoring you tho), however, miraculously we managed to stop two young fellas in a mercedes after like an hour of suffering and zero hope.―slavomirScholz

Ask the people from the gas station. The drop off was at the outlet center where the M1 and M0 separate. A good spot where you can take public transport to the city.―Maxpet
