It's a good place to stop at the bus stop. A lot of cars with Austrian license plates drive by, but they're going pretty fast. I also tried waiting at the gas station for half an hour, but relatively few Austrians stop there.―Anonymous

Good spot for going west! Met the first other hitchhiker and we hitchhiked to a gas station near Linz together. It took one an a half hour to get a lift, but there was plenty of space for the cars to stop so it should eventually go quicker to find one.―Carl07

Big gasstation! Not so many cars in the early afternoon, but with asking you will find somebody soon. I got a lift with polish tourists who drove back there and they took me all the way to Vienna.―Carl07

Honestly shocked that others say that this spot is shit for Budapest and good for Vienna — I had exactly the opposite experience hitchhiking to Austria! Three hours waiting with a sign for ‘Graz’ (I was on my way to Zagreb), and the only offer in that direction that I got was to a town just over the border. Yet three people stopped to ask if going to Budapest would help, and two more people stopped to apologize that they were going to Budapest!I had banked on people going to Vienna making the connection that Vienna is on the way to Graz, but as hour three closed I made a sign for Vienna, and it was STILL another hour. There is no shade at the on-ramp and it gets hot. The traffic is a steady trickle but honestly not that much. I would try another spot next time, no question.
Lots of space in the surrounding area to camp unseen, though, if this spot does serve you. I walked here from the end of the tram line at night to cross the highway with less traffic and start early (not that the early start helped!), and was at least well rested for the frustration.

Excellent spot where the cars can see you from far and have the place to stop even tho they are coming fast. We had a sign "Vienna" with a French flag. The driver drove us next to the St Etienne Cathedral.2 guys hitchiking

I waited only 6 minutes (solo guy, no sign, Saturday morning) and during that time 2 cars stopped. I would call that a success :D I was going to Salzburg direction. It's better to head just to Linz as there is a great hitchspot in Ansfelden, where I continued. Many cars continue from Linz to Germany (via Passau), that's why I think it's a bit more complicated to seek for direct ride to Salzburg from here.―jkczech

Great spot, around 40 cars per minute on a Friday midday. Our sign said Munich and we got dropped off close to Linz.―Aren

This place broke me, almost everything local traffic. I got lucky after two hours a desperately wawed to Czech car, and it stopped, but it was a pain in the ass. Find a different spot. Also Sundays in Austria suck.―martih

just go along the road and ask around where most of the people are.i decided to do something stupid and went to Vienna by foot, which took me 14 hours, but at this place you get a ride just by existing. cross the border.

only a few PL/H/CZ cars passed and everyone ignored me. this roundabout is not a truly convenient place for drivers to stop, I would personally stay at the separate lane a bit earlier.―AleksP

in theory this is the best you got in order to escape the north of Vienna (hell)workday morning was very tough, but I persevered and reached Prague in 6 hours even with horrible luck.
please ask to take you to gas stations, direct rides to brno or prague are very unlikely.

go further. you'll get more traffic from turning lanes. morning on a weekday is tough.―AleksP

just go down the road for 5 more minutes. there's more space to stop, more traffic and more visibiluty. at this point most cars are still grumpy austrian grannies who are driving to the shopping mall.―AleksP
