We were here on a Tuesday morning, and in half an hour two cars stopped. It's an expensive highway/city gas station without a shop. The second one took us to the roundabout in the west of the city, that was a way better spot for going to Belgium. There was also a lot of police around, and they told us we weren't allowed to be there. I don't think it's worth going out of your way to get here, but if you get dropped off here I guess you'll eventually find a ride.―Bigworldsmallsarah

Got dropped by my ride in the roundabout and immediately went to the nearby gas station to ask lifts both to truck and car drivers, with my sign with "Belgique ou Nord" written on it. Got lucky enough to get a lift by a Dutch guy heading northward that dropped me to the Liége-Guillemins train station where I took a train to my end destination of BruxellesDon't make my same mistake of going in the nearby Ikea parking lot because you'd just waste time

Steady trickle of cars late at night on a Saturday. Lots are local or going to Luxemburg. For getting to Liege you have to really ask them where they are going to find someone driving past Liege to let you out in the subburbs. Traffic to Paris, for example, is good.―Flasher702

On the road just outside the gas station is also a good spot. The highway onramp seems to be useless.On a saturday night, the only people stopping for me were going back to Aachen. Eventually I took a ride back to the border, used the pedestrian bridge to change sides, and hitch hiked to Liege.
