Toll gates. Just after the big express way junction. Direction: Dujiangyuan, Wenchuan, Songpan, Jiuzhaigou National Park.From Chengdu North Railway Station:
1. Take the D-type train to Xipu. In November 2012 the cost of the single journey ticket was 5RMB. The ride takes approx. 15 mins.
2. Leaving the Xipu train station behind, follow the street (full of yummy street food!) to the first crossing. Turn right onto 下街 street.
3. Turn left on the first crossing.
You should be on Puxing street now. Follow that street for around 15-20mins.
4. You will eventually arrive at the crossing with Xixing avenue. Turn right.
Walk all the way till the express way junction. Go past it. Just beware of the speeding cars! The cops shouldn't bother you at all.
5. Finally you will arrive at the toll gates which catch the traffic coming from the Northern stretches of G4201 express way.
There are literally loads of cars stopping here. A lot of friendly and smiling drivers!
Extremely easy to hitch a ride to Dujiangyuan, should take no more than 5-10 minutes.
A bit harder for further destinations, yet still it took me only around 20 mins to catch a ride to Maoxian.
However, hitching here, you miss a lot of traffic coming from the inner areas of Chengdu. That's why you might consider another toll gate, located a bit further to the North-West.

The big junction is on your left side.When you arrive the last stop you can see the big junction.

I got a ride immediately.Like 5mins.
Hold the Sign 都江堰 du jiang yan.
There is big toll gate after that,If you cant get any luck just walk a little bit more.
