A guy and a girl on a Sunday at noon without a sign. I don't see where the other person hitchhiked here, there is no place in the roundabout. There is a lot of traffix though, so we tried at the exit of the gas station; even though not a lot of people pass though the exit, at least we could also hitchhike the people in the roundabout. Eventually someone stopped - very unsafely - in the roundabout and brought us a bit north of the German border.―JumpingRabbit

The onramp is dead. You'll be catching traffic from the main road. They have good time to see you and are going slow from the roundabout. Cars can pull over on the white line or on the onramp.It doesn't look great at first glance, but I've caught a ride to Hjørring here twice. Been offered a ride to Frederickshavn here too. Might be one of the better places to get out of Hirtshals.

Stood there on an early Saturday morning, knowing that we were about to miss our ferry, when a woman stopped that was on her way to a village just before Hirtshals. She took us to the terminal. Mabye it's safer to go via the highway east of Hjörring?―Laurad84
