I stand in front the tram track (I think it is safer and the car regularly stops bcz of it. Also if no tram they can stop on track). It is a nice shade here and over all good stop to get out of a Marsej (Montepellier or Nîmes)―Sova

Not very busy and most of the cars were not going far, I took a ride to La Ciotad but it turned out to be a bad idea.―Peddy42

Bad spot, not a lot of place to stop and mostly locals, in the end I got a ride to the first gas station on the highway but it was kinda the same :/ I had a sign with Cannes but people were laughing at it because it was too far so I put AUTOROUTE on the other side. My advice is that if you can afford leave Marseille with another mean.―Peddy42

Single male, No french. No where to cars to stop, all rich cars and all family cars, so no hope of stopping. Terrible little commune to get out of. And extremely hot. I ended up hiking to the train station and getting a train to Toulon. Good luck out there stalker!―whiterabbit

Single male, no french. This is not an Aire, its just a bathroom with parking. No gas station, no nothing. Dont get tricked and plan this spot. I was lucky to to find a ride out of here. There was no cars stopping, only the people came there to watch the view. There were 3 couples, I asked all of them, and one of them were nice enough to give me a ride to Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer―whiterabbit

Single male, no French. With a sign to Toulon but I mainly used my thumb. I was sooooo lucky to get a ride as I got dropped here unintentionally. It was a dry ass spot, not many cars passes and no proper place to stop. Luckily these two guys who were headed to La Ciotat took me. I asked them to drop me to the next Aire (Aire du Pas d'Ouillier) which you SHOULDN'T! Because this Aire is just a rest stop, no gas station no nothing. Just the most dry and hopeless spot ever (incredible view tho). Good luck out there stalker!―whiterabbit

Single male, no French. With a sign to Toulon and Nice. tried this spot, cars cant stop properly so not a good choice. But there are not a lot choices in this part of the town. I tried to get the tolls, but caught by the officers and kicked out. Tried the upperroad on the bridge that connects to the highway, some people slow downed but they were locals going closer distances. Finally got back here again and found a ride. It was a little sketchy tho, guy didnt dropped me in the Aire I wanted him to drop me, instead he droppen me in a ramp from Aubagne to the highroad ( which he believed to be a better spot).―whiterabbit

Single male, no French. Plenty of cars, mostly heading Marseille I believe. But I spent the night here in this Aire, I set up a tent but it was a little terrifying ngl. After 1 am, car thiefs started robbing the place, or it was an alarm triggered automatically to scare of thieves but surely it was an dangerous place to sleep. If you ever need to sleep here, there is a partially hidden and safe spot surrounded by trees and have two big poles, next to the benches when you pass the basketball court. It is also a home to bunch of cats. I set my tent there but still didnt sleep until 4 am just to be sure. Also keep it in mind that thieves come by with a car and get away with a car, so anywhere away from the roads are more safe.―whiterabbit

Fantastic spot just by the petrol station with a speed bump to slow down cars. A minivan pulled into the petrol station within 10mins to go to Marseille.―Anonymous

There is not so much place on the roundabout, but if you go a little bit further there is a spot to stop on the median.―Kweps

Really bad spot for the cars to stop their, but a lot of cars going in. We started with a sign Nice, but ppl told us you should first go to Aix and then go to Nice from then. Finally, a guy took us to Aubagne.

Pretty fine place, lot of traffic. Two guys took us a bit further to the end of Marseille, where we continued through Arles, Nimes, Montpellier and Perpignan. Had a sign Arles.―TwoThumbsTravel

Not much traffic, but a random guy asked us if we’re going to Marseille and took us there. We also had a sign “Mars” but here you can stop anyone anyway.―TwoThumbsTravel

I asked for a drive out of the city or to Paris so a guy from Alžerija took me. He took me nearby airport even tho out of his way. The man was very nice even tho not speaking much english.―Anonymous

Just next to the barrier is very good spot to go south. I was holding sign Marseille and after an hour got a direct ride there. The station is very good - you can refill you water, use toilets for free and buy relatively not expensive coffee. During Sunday all traks are resting, however on working day it is worth to ask truckdrivers for a ride.―estasbien

I waited for 1.5 h until someone stopped. I said just drive right behind the traffic light. There we had enough time to go into the car. Afterwards we drove around the building. I waited in front of the traffic light with a sign (direction Avignion / Salon De Pce)―Anonymous
