I stood there and got two offers for Lyon. It was on the last week-end of August so there was a huge amount of traffic (people coming back from vacations with school starting two days after). I think that it is quite good to have a sign there.

It is an average spot I would say. I waited 45mn here which is a quite long time for a solo woman. After a while, a man stopped and took me to a petrol station on the motorway. He confirmed that most cars are going to local places here. I had a big Clermont-Ferrand sign. Good luck !

Hard to access, had to climb over a fence. Other than that the spot is really good, cars have space to stop and can see you quite well. Also good for longer hitches, we got one directly to Clermont Ferrand.

I got extremely lucky here. I got out of a car, and the driver of the car parked next to me noticed me with my “Lyon” sign and immediately told me I could ride with him (and his two beautiful dogs).

Very good spot, we were 2 people with huge backpacks and got a ride by asking directly to people at the gas station to Clermont Ferrand

very good. no shadow so be careful if you get there during heatwave and midday. you have to climb across a small fence if youre walking from the bus stop nearby.

Heading towards Lyon. Great spot with lots of space and traffic. Turns out the person who picked me up saw me at the roundabout 20km back with the sign for Lyon but someone already picked me up so when he saw me here he immediately stopped!

Awful spot in the evening. Litteraly no one stopping except for weird unmarked taxis that have parking here. I was very lucky that last car I planed to stop before I wanted to start looking for some place to sleep a guy in a driving shool vehicle stopped and took me to first service station on route to Geneve

beaucoup de place pour que les voitures s’arrêtent si ça a pas changé

a lot of people, not that much space to park for cars but as there "priority stop" sign, it's ok
maybe the drop point can be a bit random as there a lot of destination possible from there

Many foreign cars, but they didn't have space for two more passengers. We don't speak French, so we sticked with a good old sign near the gas station under a tree. Not an ideal spot for direction to Bordeaux. At the end we got lucky and hitched a nice french lady to Brive-la-Gaillarde.

It’s a quite good spot. I waited on the on-ramp of the highway. Many cars coming, enough space to stop. In the first 10 minutes 3 or 4 cars stopped, but they didn’t went my direction. I wanted to go to Geneva/switzerland. In the end I got offered a ride to Mulhouse or be dropped off at a rest area towards Geneva. I took the ride to Mulhouse and the guy even drove me to Basel (bale) to the train station. I even met someone else hitchhiking there at the same time, so cool!

Single male, no French. It was alittle frustrating. Waited around 5 hours with a sign "Lyon" and "Sud A7" at the very end of the station. Good amount of traffic but nobody stopping. A Turkish French guy took me to north of Avignon. And also gave me 50 Euros, god be with the you, much respect Mutalip Abi!

Single male, no French. Good spot, has shade if the trees are alive, slow and nice amount of traffic early in the day. Plenty of space cars to pull over. Hold a sign (Aire de Solaize) and did a thumb same time :D Got a ride from a teacher named Ali (much love) and got dropped in the next gas station on the highway ( Aire de Solaize). Overall great spot. Good luck out there stalker!
