Very very big toll ! My precedent ride dropped me just after the tollgate, where the trucks rest. I tried asking them but they were not allowed to take hitchhikers :( and people speed up after the toll so they were not really seeing me. So I crossed the toll to go just before (be careful doing this so that the cars don't crush you haha), and people were seeing me better. But even if there were a lot of cars I still waited 30 min on this side of the toll, then a nice guy from another toll entry called me and took me further haha

Most cars going to Lyon center, but still found one to take me north. I was going to Strasbourg, my ride was short but still helped me to go closer :)
Also it's a nice spot with place for cars to stop and a good visibility.

Traveling alone. Tried both sign and thumb+sign.

Came all the way here from Lyon center. It was NOT worth it.
Tons of traffic, but very few cars going towards Geneva (or they simply did not want to take me)

Early in the morning it probably works better because many people work near Geneva and live in Lyon

close to highway leaving lyon in all directions. Better to stay before the stoplight where many cars stop, otherwise cars go too fast and can't stop.

I spent 5 minutes here, time to go to pee, and then I asked only one person who brought me near Mâcon.

Not even 5 minutes and somebody picked me up to Genf (Suisse)
So totally would recommend 5/5
Perfekt to stop

Awful spot, after 2,5 hours someone finally stopped and brought me to Lyon. I tried standing before and after the gates, had a sign with Lyon/Nord and also tried just thumbing.

Good spot, a lot of cars, but everyone going in different directions (mostly just Montpellier), so you need a sign. Got picked to Lyon after about 40 minutes.

Just next to the barrier is very good spot to go south. I was holding sign Marseille and after an hour got a direct ride there. The station is very good - you can refill you water, use toilets for free and buy relatively not expensive coffee. During Sunday all traks are resting, however on working day it is worth to ask truckdrivers for a ride.

Very safe spot to hitchhike. A lot of local cars, use a sign with pictogram of a gas station and very fast you will get a ride to the nearest Petrol station on A46.

Friendly people, lots of cars. Used a sign and asked around to Montpellier, got easy a ride to Nimes.

Not many cars stopping here at all. Wouldn't recommend. Even if for once I was just trying to get to Lyon centre, it wasn't easy, as nobody was going in. Cars going direction St. Etienne go through a tunnel in the center and can make a small exit for you (39b) and leave you at Perrache station.

Two young people (one woman one man) going north, trying to get a ride to Dijon or Strasbourg. After standing a while, we started asking people directly who stopped at the red light. Unfortunately, everybody was going either to Paris or Clermont-Ferrand. Ended up getting a ride to Lille instead.

Waited 15 minutes here with a sign (prochaine aire). Our end goal was Orange, perfect spot to get out of Lyon and onto the autobahn to find a ride further south.

A local dropped me off here thursday evening, young solo woman heading to Lyon. I asked people directly in the rest stop, and was offered a ride from the second person I asked. Seems like a good place to end up overnight if necessary - food court and store, free restrooms, good lighting.

I found a direct ride after 2 minutes. Great place if you want to go in the direction of Annency.
