Good spot to reach the autoroute

We (man and woman in our 20s) waited for almost 2 hours in the late afternoon of a monday in mid-August. There's place for the cars to stop and to stand safely, but few rides to Nîmes/Avignon. We eventually got a ride.

Not that it is not a good place to hitchhike. It is quite a good place. Just people were full or afraid. Took us looong time to get a ride. And it was a 40 min one. Maybe it is because it is a 6 in the evening on Saturday

Got a ride for Aix en Provence in 30mn with a “marseille” sign. I waited between the toll and the small parking. Seems like a good spot to go south, and there’s space for cars to stop

The road behind us is closed so cars can park here while they take you. A lot of cars but they go go a lot of different place. It was a holiday. A lot of noises and no shadow.

Waited with a sign for Lyon and after 5 minutes a truck driver stopped and took me as far as Luxembourg even letting me sleep on the bunk bed in the cab.

Good spot to get out of Avignon, easy to each here by bus. A sign saying A9 got me to the toll station just before the highway.

in the early morning it's mostly workers going to the nearby places, also to orange, however i had to remain on the highway and was waiting for a ride that could drop me on a rest area. eventually i got a lift to lyon and on the way there the trucker told me he'd be going as far as germany. i ended up spending the entire shift with him :) obrigado, marcelo

spend the night here and started looking for rides in the morning when people showed up. lots of workers going to avignon and the surroundings, so i stopped on marguerittes. the idea was to catch traffic going northwards, so it was important to go furher from the split towards east
