There is not so much place on the roundabout, but if you go a little bit further there is a spot to stop on the median.―Kweps

Really bad spot for the cars to stop their, but a lot of cars going in. We started with a sign Nice, but ppl told us you should first go to Aix and then go to Nice from then. Finally, a guy took us to Aubagne.

Not much traffic, but a random guy asked us if we’re going to Marseille and took us there. We also had a sign “Mars” but here you can stop anyone anyway.―TwoThumbsTravel

Nice spot, lot of traffic, helpful people. A guy from Monaco took us really quickly to another gas station before Aix-en-Provence, close to Marseille.―TwoThumbsTravel

I came here around 7 pm on a Monday, got a lift to Marseille after less than 10 mins. However, cars go fast here and I feel like it was my luck.. Nice spot 🍀―ikikii

Idéal pour quitter Aix vers le 04 et le 05/Ideal for leaving Aix to the north, to the Alps.―Anonymous

Seems like a good spot to hitchhike north to Avignon, Lyon or Paris - wide shoulders, cars taking the intersection slowely... But we waited for 2 hours and eventually gave up and changed our spot to the northern exit from Aix.―Anonymous

Take the A8 (=La provencale) if you want to go to Frejus/Nice (because if you take the D7n you will have to stop a lot of times). I did hitch Hiking from here tot frejus in more than 4 houres (so that's to much for just 100km). Take the A8!―Anonymous

Yes, probably the best place to go to Marseille. I wait in average 20min to get a most of the time a direct lift to MARSEILLE.―Anonymous

Direction : Marseille. The place is just at the entrance of the highway.
I used a sign "MARS" and I got a ride in 15 min. There is a a lot of space for cars to stop. I think the best place to Marseille.

Direction : Nîmes/ Montpellier or Avignon.I walked 45min/1h from the city centre to go there. The spot is just before the entrance to the highway with space for cars to stop.I used a sign "PEAGE" which means "toll" in French. I wanted to go to the next péage "Péage de Lançon".
It was a lucky day because I got a car in 10 min going to Montpellier :D
