Great spot, a lot of traffic. I stayed at the exit from the gas station with a sign (Geneva) and my friend was asking people in front of the restaurant. We hitched a nice army lady, she took us to the exact place we wanted to visit near Geneva.―tomasuv1toustik

Good spot, even marked by an official autostop sign. I tried hitchhiking from further in the city center but probably best just to walk all the way up here bcs didnt have any luck there. Also tried the parallel road to the east, which is more busy but cars are going too fast to stop―Frederik

Having hitchhiked a lot out of geneva, it is so much better to just go straight to the bardonnex douane than trying from here. Either just take transit, or like me rent a donkey bike, which can be returned in the small towns close to the douane. To get into the douane there is just a small gate to the west, out of sight, that can be jumped easily―Frederik

Decent spot, space to pull over, but cars are going fast even though it is a turn. Best option if you come from courmayeur like we did. We walked up here to join the big road because the traffic out of the town was non-existant, but it was also on a sunday. It isnt possible to walk all the way up to the tunnel from here, I wouldnt risk it.―Frederik

Doesn't feel that safe but a shitton of cars and decent space to pull over. Don't forget a sign.―Frederik

Okay spot, at the time of this review there is construction work going on when approaching the highway so just walk down there and stand on what was previously the bus-lane and you will catch all traffic going out the tunnel as well. Fyi there are signs that say walking there is illigal so be careful―Frederik

Very easy to get a lift to lausanne, after you are on the highway get off on La Cote rest stop if you need to go far into switzerland―Frederik

Very few cars stopping for a rest stop here and continuing on east it seems, mostly locals, but due to highway construction i think cars heading east will choose the road leading east instead of going back on the highway. Got picked up anyway by a crew of italian skiers, great times.―Frederik

I just landed in Geneva Airport and tried to get BlaBlaBus to Grenoble, but it got canceled :/So I just found this spot on Google maps and decided to give it a try. There's enough space for cars to pull over, but not for trucks. And the road turns directly to the highway.
A lot of French drivers, who work in Geneva and live in France go this way. Took some time but got a great company on the way and it was easier once in France.

Good spot, have used it many times.wait after gas station, you can ask people but sign works fine. To get there take local train to chambésy then walk 5 minutes. Best luck during morning and evening rush hour. Have never waited longer than 1h

Best point to reach if you can't make it direct out of Switzerland into France, Just need to ask the trucks or foreign cars―Anonymous

Towards Lausanne - We barely waited 15-20 minutes before finding a ride. Stop light and radar make cars slow! Lots of room to pull over :)―Anonymous
