It’s one of the best spots to leave Grenoble going if you want to go north or south west. Very good traffic to the point we had to decline rides because they were too short. We used a Montpellier sign we found there from previous hitchhikers, although we only were expecting to get to valance a married couple brought us to a small village behind Montpellier. Might be the goat spot―GoFi

Going East->la Grave in direction of Briançon. Lots of space here, but at this time not many cars came by. But still got an unexpectedly fast ride.―Johj

Going southeast/direction of Briançon. Why bother making a sign? I held it up for like half a minute and a nice french family picked me up:)―Johj

Going South/Grenoble: I like the spot, lots of space, but people in this area always seem to be in a rush, both times I stood here I had to wait a long time. (First time I was going to Lyon and had to go to another place) Though people coming from north and from sout who want to go on the highway south have to pass here, so it seems to be the best option around.―Johj

I tried to go to Bordeaux (by Lyon or Montpellier). Lot of cars. Not much area to stop. 2 exits are free before first motorway rest area to Lyon.White male.

we stopped here trying to get a lift onward to services north of Lyon. instead, we got picked up and went straight to Grenoble, our destination. it was a Sunday, so maybe more chance of travel.―Alifeee

It's hard to rate this one. It seems like a perfect spot because all traffic is joining the road to the North East (the road I wanted) and there's a gas station where you can talk to drivers. Some people stopped on the road. Everyone I spoke to was friendly. Everyone I spoke to was only going 10 minutes up the road. In the end, I took a bus to Geneva to meet a friend.Other people might have more luck!

I think this is a terrible spot. It's a very busy road. The traffic lights are very short and there is nowhere obvious for cars to pull in (there is a car park if cars go right but it's not obvious or possible for all cars). In the end, I moved to a different spot.―andyt94

Walked from two previous unsuccessful spots (got dropped on the wrong side of town and had to take a tram) and was picked up immediately. I should have been more selective because the ride didn't take me very far. I was just excited to get out of the sun and into an air conditioned car. I think this would be a good spot for going northeast out of town.―andyt94

People go fast at the exit but there is a lot of cars and enough place to stop. 2 cars stop in 5 minutes but the first didn't go to Grenoble, second car was perfect.―Olaf

Lots of cars but they can see you enough time ago and there is space. At mid afternoon in summer it's in the shadow of the tree and the sun is not in your eyes.―Olaf
