Hitchhiked here several times already and it is kind of ok. I would say that it lies between 20mn and 1h30 waiting time as a solo lady to go to Grenoble. I advise you to write as big as you can (big cardboards are your friends) so that the cars can read it from far away. I also managed to go to the Maurienne Valley from this place, or to a petrol station on the way to Grenoble, this is great too.―particulefine

I really love this spot, hitchhiked here several times already and it never disappointed me. I wish we had the same kind of spots on the West side of Lyon to go far West ! Lots of cars but it was getting dark. Plenty of space after the toll station for people to stop or slow down and read my sign for Chamonix but most people were going a short distance or towards Grenoble. I ended up taking a ride towards Grenoble and I was going to get off at the last toll station before the turnoff towards Grenoble as I was heading towards Chamonix but there was so many police checking all vehicles and asking questions at this toll station that I ended up continuing to Grenoble staying the night there.―Arcturus

It’s one of the best spots to leave Grenoble going if you want to go north or south west. Very good traffic to the point we had to decline rides because they were too short. We used a Montpellier sign we found there from previous hitchhikers, although we only were expecting to get to valance a married couple brought us to a small village behind Montpellier. Going South/Grenoble: I like the spot, lots of space, but people in this area always seem to be in a rush, both times I stood here I had to wait a long time.
