Think I got lucky... Pas Mal pour aller Sur Paris apres 15h, forcément Les voitures vont Sur la A1 et il y en a bcp. Feu rouge très utile pour que tout le traffic s'arrete. Coup de chance aussi je pense. A Mon avis un signe est plutot essentiel pour ce spot―callsd

I think it might be the best spot to get out of Lille towards Dunkerque/Calais. There's an obscene amount of going onto the highway, there's a pedestrian crossing, so a perfect place to stop and it's very easy to get to by train (just ask someone to let you through with their ticket, if they say no, ask someone else. They're very nice in Lille). I stood with a "CALAIS" sign and got picked up by someone going to Dunkerque, but they liked me so much that they changed their mind and took me all the way to Calais beach. So I mean it that the people are nice in Lille. Highly recommend this spot too.―B5Scheuert

it's an ok spot for cars to stop. we were not waiting long. our lift was not going very far, but took us to a roundabout on the A1. In retrospect, we should have asked them to drive an extra 10 minutes to a service station, as the roundabout (and nearby toll booth) were not good for us to hitch from (3 people)―Alifeee

Lot of passing cars, lots of belges and germans. I just wanted to go to Lilles and found easily a car. I agree that it's a really weird spot and it was mostly locals but there's space to stand at the side of the turnaround (if a bit windy, also no shelter, so not a spot for bad weather) and cars can stop too. With a sign to Paris we (2ppl) found a ride to Aulnay within half an hour and from there taking the train into Paris proper was pretty easy (and cheap.)―thebeekeeper

We (2 people) were there on a Sunday, so everything was closed and we only found a ride that didn't go that far. We did find that pretty quick though and I imagine it's a pretty good spot on business days.As it was for us, it was a small bunnyhop and we were definitely lucky cause there were not many cars, so I'm not rating it super high.
