wanted to get out of the peage ASAP. the point u see near poussan is me it just did not log my correct location. most ppl wanted to go to Montpellier and I needed to go towards bezier/tls. ended up having a ride to à good hitchhike spot near bezier so it worked out, but there was a worker coming just as I got in the car so I wonder if I was close to overstaying my welcome, but maybe not. I needed to get out of sete and I had accepted to be dropped off here, but I would recommend trying to get someone directly in the right A9 direction, even if it all worked out in the end

Asked around, second car took me to Narbonne. There were not that many cars to, I think sign is not the best idea here.

Really easy spot, lots of traffic when we were there.
Also there is no need for finding a hole in a fence, when you come from the way and arrive at the fence just go left and you can get to a hoppable barrier.
We went to talk to the people at the gas pumps and got a ride fast with an Austrian couple going to Andorra.

Nice spot, easy to get a car here in A9 direction Catalunya.

I got a car in relative less attempts.
Not so much traffic as in a gas station, but enough, at least in summer.

Most effective way to leave montpellier direction south, ask just to go to the station just 10min away where you can pick long distance pple

Me, my LOVE and our dog were here for quite a long time and were prepared to sleep in the Forrest for the night. However at the most unexpected time a car stopped and took us to La Junquera even though we had a sign with Perpignan. But since on the way and our destination is Portugal we took it! Lucky us since we are two with backpacks and a dog……:)

Hard spot to go north direction Valence/Lyon. Should be quite easy to go to Nimes or direction Marsaille. I couldn't manage for my life to get anyone who was going past Nimes in my direction. Christmas days, lots of full cars and pouring rain. I gave up and got a ride into the city of Montpellier (which was easy).

I'm sure in normal circumstances it's a good place. Lots of international cars alrady. In my case, most were full because of the dates (christmas) and it was pouring rain, so it took me a while to get a ride, in the end with an italian truck driver that took me to Montpellier.

Spacious place where people stop for gas or coffee. You can either ask at gas station side or walk a bit down to catch cars and trucks all leaving the area.
Though, it took me a long while to catch a ride. Bad-hair day?:)

Good if you are heading south.
For traveling north to Montpelier, i wouldn't suggest this. Took almost 2 hours. Cars are slow when exiting the peage but then speed up rapidly to cross into their preferred lane, and as the northbound side is on the left, it's difficult for them to stop. Got a trucker ignore all the mess behind him who picked me up, luckily.

Good spot, a lot of cars, but everyone going in different directions (mostly just Montpellier), so you need a sign. Got picked to Lyon after about 40 minutes.

Got approached by a trucker after asking a bunch of people while holding a sign.
