A bit awkward for cars to stop, but slower traffic and not that packed so easier for cars to stop

little shadow next to picnic tables, waited 5 minutes before a lady offertes a ride yo Bayonne. There is no space to stop but as the cars go slowly and not so near to each others, an Express stop doesn't hurts

About 20 minutes before getting a ride to Bilbao!

Got a ride after a small wait, met some other hitchers going towards Poland, really good gas station for both directions. Most cars were going towards Lyon

I imagine it’s a perfect spot to go to Bordeaux, we asked people around for two hours and 90% of them were going there or nearby (end of the day). We were trying to reach A10 direction Paris. We were about to spend the night there when we found a ride to Angoulême. We were two with a dog.

Great spot for north ride on the highway. The rest area is big and we just asked for people on the parking. Third car took us to Bordeaux. We were two with a dog.

Lots of cars coming through. I asked 5 people or so if they were going towards Paris, which they were because thats the only way to go from here, but they said no. One guy even asked me which was Paris to be able to say he was going the other way lol. But eventually I stood on the entrance with a sign (Paris) and a guy stopped and drove me all the way to the joining of the A11 and the A10, South of Paris.

Not a good spot. Tried to ask, but everybody completely ignored me.
I ended up asking the guy who took me there to take me a bit further.

This spot is fine for getting out of Bordeaux. Two rides stopped, without a sign.

I hitchhiked during holiday season, so there were a lot of cars that were full so I didn't try to ask.
After an hour, a car that was going south of Bordeaux to the A63 took me, without a sign.

We ( Boy & Gril ) waited with another hitchhiker couple! They got a ride to the next gas station after 40mins. We were so lucky to find an elderly couple who speak english, that could take us all the way to Bordeaux :D
We definitely had to wait so long because not many pass by early in the morning! 2/3pm is the best time here.
Also it may be better to get a ride before the gas station in france as the gas prices are higher - still some people go to eat and do a stop here.
Just go around as ask 😁🌱

Picked up a hitch saying they were going south only to drop me 10kms down the road in a shit spot. This spot is pretty good tho - have a sign

First car stopped for me – a friendly French senior told me this spot is along a pilgrimage route, so it’s a good place to catch a ride. Got almost halfway to Spain from here. Definitely recommended!
