Me, my LOVE and our dog were here for quite a long time and were prepared to sleep in the Forrest for the night. However at the most unexpected time a car stopped and took us to La Junquera even though we had a sign with Perpignan. But since on the way and our destination is Portugal we took it! Lucky us since we are two with backpacks and a dog……:)―Anonymous

Hard spot to go north direction Valence/Lyon. Should be quite easy to go to Nimes or direction Marsaille. I couldn't manage for my life to get anyone who was going past Nimes in my direction. Christmas days, lots of full cars and pouring rain. I gave up and got a ride into the city of Montpellier (which was easy).―Anonymous

I'm sure in normal circumstances it's a good place. Lots of international cars alrady. In my case, most were full because of the dates (christmas) and it was pouring rain, so it took me a while to get a ride, in the end with an italian truck driver that took me to Montpellier.―Anonymous

Spacious place where people stop for gas or coffee. You can either ask at gas station side or walk a bit down to catch cars and trucks all leaving the area.Though, it took me a long while to catch a ride. Bad-hair day?:)

Good if you are heading south. For traveling north to Montpelier, i wouldn't suggest this. Took almost 2 hours. Cars are slow when exiting the peage but then speed up rapidly to cross into their preferred lane, and as the northbound side is on the left, it's difficult for them to stop. Got a trucker ignore all the mess behind him who picked me up, luckily.

Good spot, a lot of cars, but everyone going in different directions (mostly just Montpellier), so you need a sign. Got picked to Lyon after about 40 minutes.―Anonymous

ok spot, direction Lyon, fortunately after some hours a czech (same as us) with a tow truck took us all the way to Montpellier with a night stop under Lyon for sleep, we met another group of hitchhikers, but we were already full. we had a beer that evening, continued next morning, good guy (shoutout to Petr from morava, but you should have been little more talkative)―Anonymous

Got offered a ride to Béziers quite fast. Took it until a big rest station south of Montpellier, Fabrègues Nord, on our way to Barcelona. Lots of traffic and space to stop. Big Sign recommend, as of December '24 there is lots of Cardboard pieces at or behind the parking lot across the street.―Ryan161

In reference to the description above, if you're at this station heading north/east and need to go to Lyon, even people going to Marseille can take you to Aire d'Ambrussum, which is the service station just before Nimes.―Anonymous
