At the entrance of the toll, with a sign saying Paris / Le Mans, and waited less than 3 minutes for a ride.
But it was a few days before the end of summer break, so there was some traffic, probably helped!

stood on the grassy shady wooded area on the side just after the toll booths. got a ride from the second car that passed all the way to paris. may have been luck, but most traffic is slow and there is a good place to stop, and this spot gets all traffic going on the A20 from toulouse. i recommend a big sign as it is wide toll booth and you may miss cars on the far side.

I got so much luck so maybe my experience is not that representative. Got a ride to go to the south of Paris directly. Approxiamtively 4-5 cars/min. Seemed to be a good spot. There is a gaz station near this spot in which it is posible to ask around.

the traffic was not best, i tried all three streets but liked this one the best, there is a spot where car can stop just after the stop sign, so plenty of time for drivers to decide

I was really lucky and got picked up by a guy who hitchhiked a bunch in his life and he brought me to a better place.

Wouldn’t really recommend unless you can’t get out of Paris

Good spot to HH. Good traffic, at least 8 car/min. Quite an adventure to reach the gas station from Paris. Metro, RER, a bus and 45min walk in the sun but worth it. I climbed a 180cm wall to get into the station but there is some kind of hole in the metallic fence that can be used too. I waited 1h10 with my thumb and a sign to Orleans and Clermont Ferrand. There was a lot of family with full cars, foreigners (NL, B, D) and french. I got luck and found a car heading to Toulouse.
I recommend wondering around and asking people I they will accept you in their car.

Long wait, 2 car stopped but where heading toward Paris. 6 car/min approximately. There is space on the side so you are safe. I lost faith and decide to reach the gas station of Limours January where I catched a ride to Toulouse after 1h waiting

Third car stopped, with sign "A6 aire de lisses", very good spot to find a ride to the aire de lisses, where you can easily get longer drive. As someone said theres not much space for cars to stop, but if you're fast and you can jump in. There's also traffic lights where it might be easier.

The spot here and the roundabout are not to bad. But unfortunately i couldnt get a ride for 2hrs there, even thought there where plenty of cars.

Had to reach aire de limours-janvry. I went there with a bus and than I hitchhiked 5km and climbed about the fence. There i could find someone fast

Very crowded service area, the first after Paris. Asking around or holding your thumb up, both work very well there.
