Nobody was stopping, maybe it's to close to the begining of the highway

The spot is not too bad but there is actually very few cars there. My advice is to ask to go the next gas station at Isle-d'Abeau. However I got a ride from Jules to Chambéry !

Erratum : my truck driver has been assigned to deliver to Milano! That's crazy!

we got a bus here from Grenoble, took around 1h30m. We were waiting a long time as we were 3 people. Otherwise, it seemed fine.

Asked around for one hour or so with a sign with "Lyon" written on it. Paradoxically, this service area is so close to Lyon that nobody was going there, all the people were just taking a break before heading to further destinations. I gave up and walked to the nearby train station (25/30 min walk) and took the train for Lyon-Perrache

Service station with lots and lots of truck where you can even grab a coffee on the go

I was holding a sign with "France" written on it and I tried both asking to the truck drivers and standing thumbs-up on the exit. Sadly, most of the truck drivers were going back to Turin. I got lucky to find a really kind polish driver that was going all the way to Troyes. My goal was to reach Lyon so he dropped me in a service area just outside the city

Very very big toll ! My precedent ride dropped me just after the tollgate, where the trucks rest. I tried asking them but they were not allowed to take hitchhikers :( and people speed up after the toll so they were not really seeing me. So I crossed the toll to go just before (be careful doing this so that the cars don't crush you haha), and people were seeing me better. But even if there were a lot of cars I still waited 30 min on this side of the toll, then a nice guy from another toll entry called me and took me further haha

I was on the side in the grass, between the parking and the road, there is place for cars to stop and it's safe. Lots of cars but I waited 1 hour until a nice person stopped, maybe because it was early and people were going to work and were late ? My ride took me to the huge peage before Lyon (St Quentin-Fallavier), where it was a bit dangerous because I had to go inside the peage. So maybe try to go further than Lyon to avoid this !
Also this spot leads to 2 different directions, Lyon and Valence, so it's better with a sign I guess.

I found a direct ride after 2 minutes. Great place if you want to go in the direction of Annency.

On the national road, after the traffic circle there is a good visibility and way enougth place for the cars to stop and it's very easy to get a lift

I arrived around 19h in august, there were already 2 hitchhikers. The first has waited the whole afternoon, the 2nd for 2 hours, both heading toward Dijon or Paris.

A car every 5 or 10 min, mainly locals or people heading south.

I found a car with another hitchiker at 20h30

A perfect place to go in direction of Paris. Hitchhike just after shops.
