we stopped here trying to get a lift onward to services north of Lyon. instead, we got picked up and went straight to Grenoble, our destination. it was a Sunday, so maybe more chance of travel.

we liked this better than Aire de Lisses to the North, as we were 3 people. We got a quick lift to Lyon.

Took quite long, cant remember the exact time but probably 1-2 hours. But then I got a good lift to Valence

Just next to the barrier is very good spot to go south. I was holding sign Marseille and after an hour got a direct ride there. The station is very good - you can refill you water, use toilets for free and buy relatively not expensive coffee. During Sunday all traks are resting, however on working day it is worth to ask truckdrivers for a ride.

Very safe spot to hitchhike. A lot of local cars, use a sign with pictogram of a gas station and very fast you will get a ride to the nearest Petrol station on A46.

Very good spot. Just stay before peage with a sign Lyon or Grenoble. There is a sign that forbids to walk on peage, but if you stay before it, it's very safe and legal.

Not many cars, quite chill for such a big station (lots of trucks already parked for the night though, morning rides should be easy). Stood at the exit, got a ride to almost Lyon.

Not many cars stopping here at all. Wouldn't recommend. Even if for once I was just trying to get to Lyon centre, it wasn't easy, as nobody was going in. Cars going direction St. Etienne go through a tunnel in the center and can make a small exit for you (39b) and leave you at Perrache station.

Two young people (one woman one man) going north, trying to get a ride to Dijon or Strasbourg. After standing a while, we started asking people directly who stopped at the red light. Unfortunately, everybody was going either to Paris or Clermont-Ferrand. Ended up getting a ride to Lille instead.

i've been here a few times and got long lifts. it looks bad while it isn't the case. however, some patience may be needed. that time a german family with car packed went out of their way to take me with them <3

Ask direct for Paris (about 10 min waiting if you smile and move), don't stop before if you don't want to wait a long time in the French desert. For Lyon, you will wait 2 min.
