Worst spot I could imagine. There is a gas station and Mc Donalds, but dead place and only local cars driving by. I got away by standing at this really dangerous triangle, no place to stop. Getting there was risky aswell, there was no footpath or traffic lights at all. I also asked people at the gas station and Mcdonalds, but I cant recommend.

Traffic going to Stuttgart + an easy space for them to stop.

enough place for cars to stop, we used a sign with "AUTOBAHN" and a sign with an arrow, which my friend pointed towards the place where the cars could stop, because its weirdly placed, it also served as a sign pointing to the direction of the highway we wanted to use😅

Not much place to stop, but its possible, yet I wouldnt recommend this spot since many people change directions so its hard to find a car heading to your direction, there is also not much traffic, a car pulled over and took us to an exit few kilometers away, where it was better to hitchhike

Nice spot, people are driving only short distances though

Got a ride to another gas station to the south of Stuttgart. Don’tbe shy to ask.

Very few cars and sleeping people in trucks. You could get stuck.

Great spot! Asked one person and found a ride straight to Cologne (could've gone to Düsseldorf even).
I obviously got lucky, but there seemed to be a good amount of traffic.

It's just after an intersection with LOTS of traffic funneling in the north direction. You can talk to the drivers at the station, or you can stand at the entrance with a sign/thumb. I got my ride by asking a driver directly, and I know he would otherwise not have taken me because he drove right past me into the gas station. He was driving to Grünstadt, but he actually took a detour to drop me directly at my destination, Heidelberg!

Raststätte Wunnenstein is a great place to start. No matter if you want to go north or south.

To Berlin or Nuremberg, with a sign is better. You have to find the Porches Museum to hitch-Hick in this place

good spot to get out of the center, to the gas station behind "Pragsattel" (north onto A81 from there)

Got a ride to the gas station on the Autobahn south of stuttgart. Took me 5 min asking. Don't wait on the exit with the thumb up

Awesome place to start or get dropped off. Just ask people at the gas station if they go north or south.

Good place to get out of Stuttgart to the north. It’s best to ask people at the gas station if they’re going up north on the A81 (look for license plates LB (Ludwigsburg) and HN (Heilbronn)).
