We were preparing to wait for a long time. But it only took 15 minutes until a nice Ukraine guy picked us up.

Stand right beside the traffic light so people can see you from the car when the light is red(Make yourself bigger). As cars go fast here.
Drivers can easily pullover at the bus stop, which is right ahead of traffic stop.

Good spot to wait, very easy for cars to pull over and stop just after the lights. Mostly seemed like local traffic though so went ignored by about 200 cars before someone pulled over. On my way to Prague and got a lift to Dresden from here

Best spot if you want to hitchhike to Berlin. Traffic and visibility was great. We were hitchhiking in group of 3 people.

We got lucky here. Immediately when we hitchhiked from Berlin Airport a super cool guy saw us getting out of the car and took us right away. From here to Rheine is crazy.

Many cars on the way to highway, nice spot for going to Berlin. Autobus stop - place to park. Perfect.

I guess it is a bit tricky here. In theory there is enough traffic and also quite a lot of space for even big cars to stop. However, they have to stop on the bike lane, which is not ideal. The gas station were completely dead on Saturday morning, so we hitchhiked by the traffic lights and eventually got ride behind Dresden.

Two guys hitchhiking. We hitchhiked here from Wannsee to Potsdam intending to head southwest, either to Leipzig or Magdeburg. We hiked from here since there was construction at the on ramp to the autobahn in Nikolasse. We were picked up quite quickly and there’s a busstop + handicapparking where the drivers can pick you up.

Please note that if you just want to get to Potsdam you can take the S-bahn from Berlin instead.

Big station, many cars standing on the parking lot, few cars going. People going either to Berlin or North, truck drivers either somewhere local or in pairs (so no place for another person). After two hours of standing with a sign at the exit I went back to talk to people in front of the restaurant. One person who earlier said is not going my direction approached me saying they used to hitchhike and it's good if I move to am Fichtenplan, so I went with them (they were going to the airport to pick someone up)

Reasonable traffic, many cars going to Berlin airport or somewhere north but within 20 min I got a ride direction Poland with people going back to Frankfurt Oder after checking out a flat in Berlin.

It's a good spot for cars to stop but a lot of cars are going to berlin if you stay here put a sign with 113 road sign

didnt feel like talking to people at the gas station so just stood at the side of the road. got taken immediately to berlin but the drive took forever because the guy preferred driving countryroads.

Not the most convenient for drivers to stop if they are going towards the on-ramp. The guy pulled over across the street. I think I got lucky

~9:30 am, solo male, stood with a „Berlin“ sign, got picked after 5 minutes.
Won’t work without a sign I guess. Nice pocket of a bus stop for cars to stop and pick you

Took me (woman alone) extremely long to find a ride. I walked around the gasstation and stood at different places on the (cross)road. Also had a scary experience with a guy that had purposely stopped on the onramp so I had to decide quickly. Luckily I said no and 30 min later I was taken by a really nice Israeli woman. Maybe part of it being so hard was due to the fact that gas prices were not good there and there weren't many people at the gas station.

Best spot to leave Berlin south or west.
Ask around for rides west or(!) south and respekt common etiquette if there are other hitchhikers. I hitchhiked 15 times from here (mostly alone) and it always worked.
Waiting time 5-90 min.
60% of the time you end up 50km further at a big rest stop in Michendorf where A3 and A9 splits. While there might be another 45 min waiting time awaiting you its still worth it to go there. After Michendorf it will get better!
