Entrance to the highway is still blocked but we got lucky with a driver who didn't know that (on the highway sign for the rasthof there's no information about that lol) he took us to michendorf and we got there around the time we would have gotten there if taking public transport to there instead to Grunewald. At the Grunewald the traffic is as low as at Michendorf but barely anyone goes on the highway.―M

We were here on a sunday mornig as we tried to get to France. We (two guys) were really unlucky and the only friendly people could've taken one of us. We went from the gas station to kaiserdamm and tried at the traffic light with signs for 40 minutes but had no luck.We gave up and went to Michendorf, had luck there

Legendary place for going from Hamburg to Berlin, in my experience. I’ve been picked up twice by drivers going all the way to Berlin and never had to wait more than 15 minutes. Lots of commuters pass the roundabout, traffic is slow enough to stop and there’s a wonderfully wide shoulder. Chef’s kiss.―Kreft

Two guys hitchhiking. We hitchhiked here from Wannsee to Potsdam intending to head southwest, either to Leipzig or Magdeburg. We hiked from here since there was construction at the on ramp to the autobahn in Nikolasse. We were picked up quite quickly and there’s a busstop + handicapparking where the drivers can pick you up.Please note that if you just want to get to Potsdam you can take the S-bahn from Berlin instead.

I arrived here by bus, because the highway were under construction at Hohenzollern and Berlin-Westend. As I said I want to Hamburg beforehand, a older man told me that this place would be better than those closer to the center of Berlin. After a while I had to realize that this wasn't the best choice, because the cars accelerace fast and have no real option to stop especcially due to the no-stopping-area coming after 500m. At first I just tried it by thumb but after some time I found a piece of paper laying in bush which I used as a sign. A young pair stopped after some time and took me to the Stolper rest stop even though they wanted to go to Berlin Spandau. We talked about the Youtube series called "The Race" which was the reason why they stopped.―rubntf97

I think the second person I asked, took me into Berlin (I didn't wanna take public transport). First person was a man not going the right direction, that explained to me that there is much better spot close. And that I actually most definitely should just walk to the train station. I suppose that were the first 8 minutes ;). Forgot my exact end destination.―Eefje
