It's a bit of an awkward place to stop, but it's the countryside so people are nice and patient. Also, there's a nice forest to camp next to the highway there. Rainbow accessible but very low visibility.―Bigworldsmallsarah

First we tried the gas station in the back, but it was dead. (Sunday evening) I think no one wants to tank in Switzerland when Germany is so close. Then we tried asking the police if we could stand at the border post, since the cars go so nice and slow. They told us no. Bastards. Anyway. Then we switched between asking people in the McD parking lot and flagging down cars from the highway to enter into the parking lot (seems very impossible but we didn't have much other options.) in the end the asking at the parking lot worked. During the day it's probably a lot easier, but it's not a nice place to be stuck at night. Also the McD closes at 22.―Bigworldsmallsarah

Pretty decent spot in case of an emergency, but if you are coming from the south, don't fuck up like me and get off at the Shell gas station a few kilometers south (destination). I stood here in a high-vis vest, and a guy took me back to that shell station I missed.―martih
