It's a bit of an awkward place to stop, but it's the countryside so people are nice and patient. Also, there's a nice forest to camp next to the highway there. Rainbow accessible but very low visibility.

First we tried the gas station in the back, but it was dead. (Sunday evening) I think no one wants to tank in Switzerland when Germany is so close. Then we tried asking the police if we could stand at the border post, since the cars go so nice and slow. They told us no. Bastards. Anyway. Then we switched between asking people in the McD parking lot and flagging down cars from the highway to enter into the parking lot (seems very impossible but we didn't have much other options.) in the end the asking at the parking lot worked. During the day it's probably a lot easier, but it's not a nice place to be stuck at night. Also the McD closes at 22.

Horrible spot. Gave up and went back to the broken down train system.

Nice spot, dirt/gravel place where cars can stop and lot of traffic. Close to onramp to various directions (west, north, south) it was raining and we were cold so we agreed to get driven to Pirmasens (direction France) where we found shelter in a church

First day noone going south, only Frankfurt or Frankfurt airport. Next day we had a sign saying A5 SOUTH wich was very helpful and got picked up in 20-30 minutes, and drove close to Landau. Got dropped of at gas station near Edesheim. 20 minute walk there, and a store, so you can buy food etc.

some strange guys let me there with my friend on the road to Prague, at midnight, in the forest... bad plan. If it happens to you, cross the bridge and walk 30minutes to Wörth, There is a metro station to Karlshrue

Pretty easy to get a lift to Germersheim from here. When going to Karlsruhe, prepare for some village hopping.
20 minutes walking from the town old town of Speyer.

Saturday evening, we were 2 people going to Karlsruhe and Stuttgart. Very low traffic (approx. 5 cars parked), nevertheless got a ride directly to our places in 10 minutes.
