Legendary place for going from Hamburg to Berlin, in my experience. I’ve been picked up twice by drivers going all the way to Berlin and never had to wait more than 15 minutes. About every 20 min. there would be somebody stopping. But all went towards Oldenburg or Osnabrück. We (2 guys) were trying to get to Lüneburg. No success…Cars were coming pretty often but it doesn't seem to be a good spot for hitching.
Cars to Lüneburg probably rather go down the A7. Or maybe walking in the city and trying at the Bundesstraße B75 which also crosses the river Elbe and is pretty close would've been better?

Saw a NL(Netherlands) plate and waited by their car until they came from the restroom. Friendly older couple going towards south of Netherlands. Probably one of the most used gas stations near Hamburg and super easy to get a ride. Some people a little grumpy―Anonymous
