Very good gas station for hitchhiking. We were standing with a sign (CZ written on it) at the gas station exit. We managed to stop someone who was going directly to Prague!

We got here on Friday evening at 18:30. There were not so many cars but most people were very nice and either didn’t have the space or went somewhere else. We waited until 22:30 and then stayed the night at the entrance of the hotel on the other side. When we got back in the morning around 6, Not even 2 minutes after getting there, a nice lady in a van picked us up from the highway. So the earlier you get there the better your chances are.

Actually this place is dope. I just had trouble finding a lift directly to Munich. I denied 7 or 8 cars for Ulm or Augsburg.

Good spot! Huge gasstation with restaurant and kiosk. A lot of people that travel far stop there for a break and it is very busy. We stayed not at the gasstation but a bit behind where the road makes a curve. Easy to stop and cars go slow. Got a ride to Munich directly.

july, friday around 2PM, i spent some time trying to go up to people and ask for a lift, but theres people everywhere, loads of families with a full car, many people didnt speak english
i dunno if was only a matter or timing, but soon after i moved to the entrance of the highway, 3 cars stopped in one minute
the 3rd was going in my direction and drove me to nurnberg
free toilet and free water in the truck parking lot
dont be fooled by the expansive shop

friday morning, around 11AM, July, going towrds Berlin
spent the night in my tent behind the station in a little patch of trees, very quite. loads of trucks and cars, i took me a bit to get a ride until the next gas station on A9
i was hitchhiking at the entrance of the highway since there were not many cars stopping for petrol, mostly for food/toilets (at least at this time)
a police car drove pass me and said nothing (its always my biggest fear)
station is good. expensive, but there are toilets for truck drivers that are free and they have drinking water, so dont get fooled by the shops

Took me about 30 min to find a ride straight to Munich suburbs form where I took the S-Bahn to my final destination.
Great spot, but traffic can be low late in the day.

Tryed to get on the A8 here today and as there is no good place to stop I wouldn't reccoment to try it. Besides no good place to stop there are two major things to consider - first a plus; manny cars go by; second - there are plenty directions where they could go, most likely not yours -.-

You can go to "FÃ¼rholzen" by bus and than walk out of the town to the north in direction "Hetzenhausen". After you left the town you will soon see the oil station on the left side. Perfect Place!

Hitched from here 2 times up North. Key is to walk a bit onto the entry. Car or truck will pick you up within 15 min. =)!

a bit difficult to get there on a sunday (there is no bus to fürholzen from eching on the weekends). We started to walk to the gas station and a woman took us to the gas station. It's very big and a lot of people stopped for us but we wanted to get a ride for a long distance direction frankfurt after the oktoberfest but the maximum that we got was to nurmberg.
