Many Danes on their shopping trips, saw a lot of campervans and I think especially in summer many Germans going on holiday to Scandinavia. The car wash station here gave me an energy drink. Got offered a ride to Vejle. Asking at the shopping mall parking lot would probably be faster but if you don't feel social this works.―Bigworldsmallsarah

Got a lift to Scandipark by the highway where many Danes shop. The spot seemed okay, easy to stop, but very urban. It's an actual hitchhikers bench! The idea of it got me very excited. Pedestrians will definitely look at you confused for actually using it. The bench has an option for putting up a sign with the direction you want to go, which is funny but I think it's broken. Anyway, if no people to Denmark pick you up, Scandipark is a very good second option :)―Bigworldsmallsarah
