Got a ride close to Heidelberg. I would say that the place is quite bad. Cars that go to the highway are driving 2 lanes from you so they can’t really stop or see you easily. I asked drivers on the gas station a d got extremely lucky with a dutch car going west/north.―pivokluk

I love this spot, a very nice family took me after 30 minutes or so. The cars go fast but they have so much space to stop and they see you very good. It leads to Plzeň but I got to the south/central Germany :)―Anonymous

It is a good place. But we wanted to go to the Germany. There were many Germans on the gas station and they were completely full. So we waited there a long time. After that we got a long ride. Got a ride to Nuremberg after 30 mins.By far the best spot to leave the Rhein-Neckar area in direction south and east. Take S9 from Mannheim and walk to the spot. The gate is open

To be honest, not that great spot for Nürnberg direction, all of the truck go to Frankfurt, but it you are lucky, you can still get really nice hitch.―martih
