A lot of trucks stop here for a customs and overnight sleep. But after asking everyone on a parking, I decided to try to hhike on a side of the road, as a speed is very slow and it a lot of space for car to stop. After 20 min there got a ride in the direction Nürnberg to the next gas station.―Anonymous

here is a good spot but on a saturday in summer there were many families and cars with no space. there was also a vaction driving ban for truckers so i couldnt ask them for rides either. i tried thumbing from the end of the station but i eventually got a lift talking to some hippie looking people going to graz. a lot of the drivers who had no space were going to vienna or elsewhere in austria.―Leslie

a bit sketchy to stand here, try a bit before the traffic lights on the east side of the crossroads, you will get half the traffic but its easier for cars to pull in and you are more visible. with a sign for passau i got a lift in no time.―Leslie

Gas Station on both sides of the autobahn.Take city bus no 10 towards Schalding rechts der Donau from the city center. Get off underneath the autobahn bridge (can't miss it) and walk up to the gas station via the service road underneath the highway bridge.

It took us two tries to hitch a ride, so we would say it was a good experience. A gas station is almost always a good place to hitchhike and so is this one.―Yooks

AVOID if you want to hh to MUNICH!!! most likely people wont head there because the ones coming from Vienna already took an other route. If you are willing to wait you might be lucky after a while. Try and ask people for Landshut or maybe even Deggendorf (and ask them kindly if they could drop you at the highway A92 to Munich). No petrol stations on this route though, only parking lots!―Anonymous

The second guy I asked, took me to Nuremberg, which was my destination. The gas station is kinda small, but it's not that hard to get a ride here.―MlleLunatique

not good to travel down the A92 to Munich, nearly any car came, waited for like 3 hours at night, most cars go further the A3 to Nuremberg―Anonymous

Lots of cars going towards Austria, just wait at the end near trucks, or ask at petrol station.―Anonymous
