Got a ride to Nuremberg after 30 mins.

By far the best spot to leave the Rhein-Neckar area in direction south and east. Take S9 from Mannheim and walk to the spot. The gate is open

Tried for 2h to get to A6 by asking → didn't work
Then we tried to get to Schwabach and walk for 1h to the nearest gas station next to the Autobahn → worked

Got a ride with the second car I asked. Not a lot of cars at around 10:00 in the morning on a friday. Lots of polish car signs and trucks, the people I asked were heading towards Karlsruhe and Ulm.

This place absolutely sucks in Czech direction, avoid at all cost.

To be honest, not that great spot for Nürnberg direction, all of the truck go to Frankfurt, but it you are lucky, you can still get really nice hitch.

Good spot when going to Czechia. Just look for Czech license plates and ask.

Got a direct ride to Nurnberg after waiting 30 minutes or so.

Usually my go to stop, easy to go south to Freiburg or north to Heidelberg.

I was there late in the evening, not much traffic and idea was to spend a night there if nobody stops. Surprisingly this was one of the best hitchhiking experience, two local girls approached me interested wtf I am doing and invited me to their place for dinner and sleepover. The next morning it was quite easy to find a ride.

really no problems to find lifts to at least the next service station to the west, lots of traffic

There is a gasstation easy to reach and people are going either west, east or north. There are also traffic lights and space to stand. So either ask or just thumb. To get there take the metro towards Langwasser-Mitte and from there the bus 58. Get out at harnischschlag.

It's a large gas station with a restaurant and a parking lot. A very good place to hitchhike as you have the parking lot and the station to talk with drivers.

Directions: From Nuremberg take the S2 (mostly not controlled) train to Schwabach. Go through the Laubenhaid forest/park and towards the highway, follow the paths.

If you walk there from Schwabach you need to cross railways (there's no bridge or anything).

1st: It's the bus 68 which goes to Harnischschlag.

2nd: It was a big problem to get to Stuttgart from there (I even wrote STUTTGART or HEILBRONN on my board). Only a trucker took me (female) to Stuttgart, because he lived there.

Easy to go South. Didn't even have time to finish writing my sign before I was approached by someone willing to take me.
